Our ingredients are sourced from ethical, sustainable and cruelty free suppliers as well as Fair Trade. We are committed to sourcing from places where it benefits the communities and in doing so are supporting these communities. We utilise both traditional ingredients and those that have been sourced through innovative techniques.We use the most concentrated plant extracts and actives which are known for their resilience and have been proven by science and centuries old traditions.

 

African Bulbine Frutescens Leaf Juice: An aloe like succulent  native to southern Africa used for generations by indigenous peoples as a remedy for topical skin issues. it helps soothe, protect, moisturiseand help increase skin hydration and elasticity.

African Potato (Bantu Tulip): Native to Africa it contains rooperol which is a powerful antioxidant and free radical scavenger. It has a high concentration of plant sterols which help protect the skin and has potent anti aging effects.

Aloe Ferox: Also known as Cape Aloe indigenous to South Africa traditionally used by the Khoisan to combat skin irritations. This gel differs from aloe vera gel in that it has higher nutrient level and is good for blemished skin and sun burns. It is also used to promote hair growth and prevent dandruff. 

Argan Oil: Native to Morocco this powerhouse oil has traditionally been used both topically and orally to improve skin health, hair and nails. It helps reduce skin's oiliness, has an effect on anti aging and also helps with skin isssues.

Athrixia phylicoides (Bush Tea) Extract:  Aromatic herbaceous herb indigenous to southern Africa. Traditionally used to bathe wounds, help acne and clear skin blemishes. Clinically tested to also minimize pores, improve skin texture  whilst firming and toning.

Bao Activ Extract: From the majestic Baobab tree revered in Africa for its wellness and nutritional value. It is rich in minerals, vitamins (especially vitamin C) and micronutrients to supercharge the regeneration and rejuvenation of the skin and provide unique skin food.

Baobab Fruit Powder: This powder from the Baobab fruit has a high content of citric, malic and tartaric acids. It also has a high antioxidant level, high vitamin c level and high essential minerals. It's known to boost skin hydration and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and stretch marks. 

Baobab Oil: From the majestic Baobab tree revered in Africa this oil is an excellent emollient that offers skin rejuvenation and renewal whilst helping diminish fine lines and wrinkles. The antioxidants protects skin from free radical damage and it contains three exotic fatty acids which are rare among other oils. 

Bakuchiol: Known as nature's retinol alternative. It is a plant extract found in the seeds of the plant Psoralea corylifolia. It is a potent antioxidant which visibly reduces skin discolourations and reduces fine lines and wrinkles as well as having a soothing effect on the skin. It works by increasing cell turnover thereby stimulating collagen production. Considered to be gentler than retinol.

Buchu Extract/Powder: An evergreen shrub native to the Cape region of South Africa. Indigenous Khoisan used it for centuries as a repellent/ deodorant and mixed with oil to make a moisturizer. Believed to be an elixir of youth. It has properties that make it excellent for removing excess oil, deep cleaning pores and reducing spots and blemishes.

Cancer Bush: Found in the fynbos biome of South Africa it has traditionally been used widely as a herbal remedy. The original inhabitants of the Cape, the Khoisan and Nama people used it to treat skin conditions and inflammations. The plant is rich in amino acids and antioxidants which help in soothing skin.

Cape Clay: It  helps stimulate circulation to the skin whilst gently exfoliating and cleansing. It is suitable for sensitive and dry skin types as it does not draw out oil.

Devils Claw, Rosacalm (Kamangu): A herbaceous perennial indigenous to southern Africa that stores water and nutrients in underground tubers in order to survive harsh climatic conditions. Rich in amino acids, flavonoids and phytosterols it is excellent for  skin issues such as reducing skin redness and calming skin. It also aids in skin regeneration resulting in minimal transepidermal water loss. Excellent for sensitive skin.

Fynbos Essential Oils  (Cape May, Cape Peppermint, Cape Rose Geranium, Cape Lavender, Cape Snowbush, Cape Verbena -African Lemon Verbena, Cape Gold, Cape Chamomile)

Honeybush Extract: Grows indigenous along the Eastern Cape of South Africa and is closely related to Rooibos. Traditionally used as a tea and to address skin issues. Rich in minerals, nutrients and antioxidants it helps reduce appearance of wrinkles, improves skin texture and smoothness and reduce collageb damage

Kalahari Desert Salt: Sourced from the remote and pristine Makgadikgadi Salt Pans deep in the Kalahari Desert.Rich in minerals and trace elements this pure salt has been used for centuries for a wide variety of purposes.

Kalahari Melon Seed Oil: Another secret of the Kalahari desert, this phytosterol rich super oil has strong restructuring, moisturizing and regenerating properties. It restore elasticity for more supple skin and assists in the removal or excess sebum. Excellent for oily, blemish prone and maturing skin.

Kalahari Red Clay: A mildly absorbent cleansing and detoxifying clay from the Kalahari Desert. Excellent for tightening pores and suitable for normal skin types.

Kigelia Africana Extract: Fruit extract of the mystical African tree, Kigelia Africana. Traditionally used for breast firming in Africa and skin related issues. Contains flavonoids and antioxidants, Helps improve skin firmness and elasticity as well as clarify skin and reduce blemishes.

Mafura Butter ( Cape Natal): Organically grown and wild harvested in the southern regions of Africa especially Zimbabwe. Produced by cold processing 100% seeds, it has been used traditionally for skin softening, moisturising and soap making.High in essential fatty acids it revitalizes skin by encouraging cell regeneration without clogging pores and improves skin elasticity

Marula Oil: The Marula trees are found all over southern Africa. The oil from the Marula fruit  is known as the elixir of youth with 60% more antioxidants than any other oils. It has high amounts of nutrients and essential fatty acids that help boost cell activity, hydrate and repair skin at the deepest level. It also helps reverse radical skin damage and reduce skin blemishes. 

Marula Cake Powder: Soft kernel powder rich in protein and marula oil. Perfect  for skin exfoliation.

Mongongo/Manketti Oil: Packed with fatty acids and vitamins this oil helps skin retain its moisture thereby smoothing out rough texture, diminishing fine lines, tightening pores and improving skins elasticity 

Moringa/Miramor Extract/ Oil/ Powder: High in vitamin a ,c and e, it has anti aging properties and promotes smooth and radiant complexion. It enhances collagen production, diminishes blemishes, detoxifies skin, increases skin hydration and protects against skin damage. 

Myravive Extract ( Myrothamnus flabellifolia) - The 'Resurrection Plant ': It grows from the south of Africa all the way to east Africa. During drought it appears to die completely and after rain the plant resurrects itself. Traditionally used for skin complaints and gum disorders. Rich in polysaccharides and antioxidants it nourishes skin cells, softens and smooths skin and contributes as an anti aging agent by decreasing wrinkle depth.  

Rooibos Extract:  The natural unfermented form of an ancient tea from the southern tip of Africa. Traditionally used for soothing skin conditions as well as a tea to aid in digestion. Packed with flavanoids, vitamin D and antioxidants to tighten and soothe skin and combat blemishes, signs of aging and sun damage.

Plant Pytelenes: Whole natural plant extracts with intact biological activity. Their optimal efficacy is 5-10 times higher than that of dried plant extracts.

Portulicaria Afra Leaf Juice (Elephants Bush): A small leaved succulent found in southern Africa. The astringent juice used for soothing skin ailments.

Prickly Pear: Native to Morocco as well as other parts of Africa it is a potent source of vitamin E, essential fatty acids and antioxidants. It moisturises and softens skin whilst stimulating new cell growth. As well it calms inflammation, helps restore skin elasticity and brightens skin.

Qasil Leaf Powder: Native to East Africa. Qasil leaves are collected from the Gob tree and crushed into a powder. This soap free cleansing powder has been traditionally used by East African women for centuries to exfoliate, soften and brighten their skin. It is high in antioxidants and vitamin C.

Rhassoul Clay: Native to a valley in the Atlas mountains of Morocco, this brown clay rich in magnesium and potassium helps draw out impurities,improve skin elasticity and skin complexion as well as minimise pores.

Sour Fig Extract: A ground creeping succulent indigenous to south western Cape Coast region of South Africa. The astringent juice was traditionally used for skin issues whilst the fruits were eaten. It is excellent for soothing skin, has astringent properties and is great for problem skin. 

Sorghum Powder:  A flowering plant belonging to the grass family Poaceae and native to Africa. It is rich in antioxidants which help fight free radicals while protecting and regenerating new cells.

Spilanthes acmella oleracea (Paracress): An extract of a South African plant of which only the flower buds are used.  Traditionally used for toothaches. Also known as Nature's Wrinkle Smoother it has been proven to restructure,firm and soothe the skin with an instantly noticeable effect.

Watermelon Extract: From the Kalahari melon found deep in the Kalahari desert the extract is rich in vitamin c and amino acids. It also contains potassium, vitamin a, and b, lycopene and antioxidants that help minimize the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, improve skin pigmentation and promote healthy collagen production. 

Ximenia Oil: The Ximenia trees are found in abundance across Southern Africa and the tree is commonly known as the wild plum or monkey plum. Women and girls in Southern Africa traditionally used Xemenia oil to soften their skin and condition their hair as well as a massage treatment for dry and chapped skin. Ximenia oil reduces inflammation and redness, and offers UV activated protection.

Yangu Oil: Native to South Africa.  Rich in fatty acids this oil offers intense moisture and inherent UV protection. Traditionally used by local African women to combat the drying effects of the sun and UV rays. Excellent for dry and maturing skin.
